Build a certification study plan around a full-time job

A capacity-first schedule with weekly outputs, review space and recovery time.

Calculate honest capacity

List repeatable study windows rather than an ideal number of hours. Short weekday sessions and one longer weekend block are often more reliable than a schedule built around motivation.

Subtract known travel, deadlines and family commitments. A smaller plan that survives busy weeks produces more learning than an ambitious plan that collapses after two weeks.

Turn the blueprint into work

Use the current official exam objectives as the scope. Group related objectives, then assign reading, labs, recall practice and questions to each week.

Define an output for every session: explain a concept without notes, configure a feature, solve a question set or review an error log. “Study chapter three” is too vague to measure.

Protect the final weeks

Reserve time for mixed practice, weak-area review and administrative checks. Avoid scheduling new major topics immediately before the exam unless a diagnostic shows a critical gap.

Add a recovery buffer before booking if the exam allows flexible timing. The buffer is not wasted time; it prevents one disrupted week from forcing rushed coverage.
